What was the Camel Trophy Rally and how was Land Rover involved?

The Camel Trophy Rally was an annual international off-road motor sport event that was first held in 1980 and ran until 2000. It was created by Camel Cigarettes and was sponsored by Land Rover and designed to promote adventure and teamwork. The competition took place over several weeks and included a series of rolling stages, obstacle courses and extreme terrain driving. Teams from different countries drove specially modified Land Rover vehicles in difficult conditions, which was designed to challenge their skills and mental strength. Teams were awarded points for completing each challenge and the team with the most points at the end of the rally was declared the winner.
